AI READINESS ASSESSMENT

Find Out Exactly Where to Start.

10 questions. About 3 minutes. Immediate results.

What best describes your company?

Built on the same framework used in paid AI Ops Audit engagements with mid-market companies.

The Work-Smart AI Readiness Assessment scores your company across six dimensions: data, operations, AI tool usage, governance, team readiness, and visibility. Takes 3 minutes. You get an immediate maturity score, AI Operating System layer map, and personalized recommendations. No email required to see results.

How the AI Readiness Assessment Works

The assessment scores your company across the six layers of the AI Operating System: Data, Command Center, Private AI, Automation, Governance, and AI Visibility. For mid-market companies (20-500 employees), there are 9 scored questions plus an industry context question. For small businesses (under 20 employees), there are 6 scored questions plus industry and team size context. Each scored question maps to a specific layer, and your answers produce a score from 1 to 4 on that dimension.

Your total score places you in a maturity stage. Mid-market companies land in one of four bands: AI-Curious, AI-Aware, AI-Building, or AI-Mature. Small businesses are scored on a parallel scale: AI-Curious, AI-Exploring, AI-Active, or AI-Integrated. The bands tell you where you sit relative to the companies I work with across construction, legal, financial services, distribution, and professional services. Most land at Curious or Aware. That is not a failure. It means the foundation is the right starting point.

After you submit your details, you see a layer-by-layer breakdown showing which dimensions are solid and which have critical gaps. The tool highlights your top 3 priorities based on the lowest-scoring layers, with specific recommendations for each. It also provides an industry-specific insight based on what I have seen in your vertical. The output is designed to give you the same clarity that a 30-minute discovery call would, only faster. If you want to go deeper, the AI Ops Audit maps your entire operation in 2-3 weeks and produces the decision document that defines what to build first.

Want the sequencing framework before you decide? Read Where to Start With AI. It covers what to do in weeks 1 to 12: data layer first, one workflow at a time, governance from day one, the order that actually works at mid-market scale.
